About Issey Manor
The Building & Location
Issey Manor is a blend of old architecture and modern living. A coach house built in 1875 with a large extension built in 1910, it was transformed in 2001 into fine accommodation with four designer guest rooms. New owners Kevin and Chris upgraded the interior in December 2009.
There are many walks close by, including Pukekura Park and the Coastal Walkway, which stretches along New Plymouth’s foreshore. From the Len Lye Wind Wand, you can walk in a westerly direction to Port Taranaki or to the east, past East End Reserve and Fitzroy Beach to the mouth of the Waiwhakaiho River. The walkway is popular with walkers, joggers and cyclists.
New Plymouth is a wonderful, vibrant city and we are happy to assist you in any way to ensure you get at least a snapshot of our city and surroundings.
Your Hosts - Kevin & Chris
Kevin Wensor and Chris Paul purchased Issey Manor at the beginning of December 2009. Kevin has just retired from the Probation Service after many years working with a diverse and, shall we say, challenging client group! Partner Chris is a successful and well published Landscape Designer with his company Plan It Earth Landscape Design, now based at Issey Manor. The other member of our family is Jack. You will probably hear him barking before you actually see him but he loves attention and mixes well with people.
We respect your privacy and will leave you to enjoy your stay in peace. However, we are only a ‘door knock’ away should you require anything at all, some local knowledge or just a chat. We are here to assist in any way we can.
